PHILIPPINES — The Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF) vows not to tolerate any official or member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its investigation of alleged rogue cops among their ranks.
CITF Chief PS/Supt. Jose Chiquito Malayo promised to hold rogue cops liable in order to save the image of the national police.
The official refused to reveal the names on the list, but added that they have committed huge violations and are facing complaints.
“We are working on those lists that’s why we are categorizing and prioritizing these reports. But that will be validated once we conduct police operations,” he said.
Malayo also noted that he has already started meeting with personnel who will conduct counter checks in every complaint they will receive.
“We already have 70 complaints and more are coming. We’re recruiting personnel and checking on their background.
Malayo is also confident that none of CITF’s members are involved in any anomaly due to the strict requirements they must follow before being hired into the group.
CITF has received a total of 50 text messages and three walk in complaints since it launched its hotline number on Monday.— Lea Ylagan | UNTV News and Rescue
